General Job Description:
Responsible for assisting in the development and execution of national, local and trade media and promotion plans for Starz Entertainment (STE). Specifically ensuring that all plans meet the objectives of the marketing initiatives and are executed in an efficient and timely manner. This individual will need to possess proven experience in managing multi-tactical media plans and buys and related stewardship to ensure media plan are efficiently executed. They will need to exhibit knowledge of traditional and non-traditional media tactics; with particular strength in the area of business to business and online media planning and buying. Assist in the development of media and promotion strategies for Corporate Branding, Affiliate/Sales and Trade initiatives. Work closely with internal departments in the areas of Brand Strategy, Creative Services, Affiliate Sales, Programming, Research and Sales Communications. Assist in the development and evaluation of all National and Local media plans and buys. Specific actions include: Development and execution of business to business trade media campaigns which requires strong knowledge of trade print and online media planning and buying. Work with affiliate sales teams to manage monthly cross channel buys. Work with syndicated research and analytical tools to identify target audience, related media usage dynamics, delivery of media and competitive spending. Work closely with external media buying agency(s) to ensure the media buys are efficiently executed and that creative is effectively trafficked. Work with creative services to ensure media and creative are synergistically integrated into the campaigns. Establish strong professional partnerships with the media sales representatives. Track the financial and contractual flow of media investments. Actions will include: Match media contracts against media buys to ensure that expenditures are on tracked with goals and budgets. Work with media agency of record and/or affiliate’s agency to ensure that creative is trafficked to appropriate media vehicle. Work with media agency of record and/or affiliate’s agency to ensure timely payment of invoices. Set up and maintain timelines to track deliverable against deadlines. Maintain departmental status reports for all media campaigns and projects. Track data for key learnings and the development of case studies. Assist in the development of business models for tracking buy performance. Help identify opportunities to build more efficient and innovative media plans and approaches to the marketplace for both Starz Entertainment-led advertising as well as Affiliate support. Strong interpersonal communications skills (written and presentation) will be required. Strong aptitude towards numbers and analysis. Highly organized. Team oriented and naturally competitive. Must have a strong work ethic, integrity and good business acumen
Required Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of five plus years of experience in the field of media (agency and/or client side). Experienced in media planning and buying in the areas of broadcast TV and radio, cable TV, national and local print, out-of-home, online, promotions and guerilla marketing tactics. Two plus years of online media planning and buying required. One plus years of business to business media planning and buying required. Experience in the cable and/or entertainment industry a plus. Strong knowledge of Excel: formulas, links, charts and graphs.
