General Job Description:
 The Principal Architect will be a key member of the Vongo development team. The role of the Principal Architect is to provide leadership for the development and delivery of the successful software product - Vongo. This will require the Principal Architect to have the ability to collaborate not only with the technology team, but also to effectively communicate with the senior management and marketing teams, and incorporate feedback from the affiliate business development team. Primary responsibility for executing the technology strategy and bringing the product to market. Responsible for the quality and effectiveness of personnel within the development team. Direct the definition, development and delivery of a commercially successful software product. Manage a world class development team through development, testing and product release. Apply innovative information architecture, usability, accessibility and design principles. Excellent background and skills in enterprise platform-level technical development utilizing Java, relational databases, web applications, multi-tiered production environment implementations, browsers, services and utilities, as well as web-page design and Flash presentation systems. Demonstrated ability to plan/estimate development efforts to release quality software features on time and budget. Extensive proven experience leading the design, definition, planning, development and deployment of software products. Strong experience launching, releasing and supporting successful development projects. Experience with rapid prototyping, development and project management methodologies. Possess excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to interpret respond to written and verbal communications- questions in positive or negative situations. Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a dynamic work environment.
Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree in technology related field or five to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Seven plus years of professional Software Development experience. Five plus years J2EE / object oriented application design and development. Experience with Flex technologies preferred. Rational ClearCase experience required. Experience using Microsoft Project and Sharepoint. Experience in cable TV, programming or broadcast satellite services desired.
