General Job Description:   These are unpaid internships located in Beverly Hills, CA and New York City, NY. Must be a sophomore-senior level undergraduate with a minimum GPA of 3.0; graduate students are also welcome to apply. Creative Advertising Department

Graphic Arts and Creative Advertising majors welcomed. The student will be exposed to the basics of motion picture creative advertising and will learn about theatrical advertising. Interns will gain an understanding of print and audio-visual advertising including one-sheet creative, newspaper ads, photo shoot production, trailer creative, television and radio spot creative and finishing and creating marketing reels. Interns will assist with gathering the appropriate materials for delivery to other departments, along with administrative duties such as archiving materials, purchase orders, correspondence, and organizing tasks. Creativity is necessary as they will be able to contribute their advertising ideas. Candidate must be enthusiastic, have a strong creative energy and exhibit extreme discretion.

Production Department

We're looking for interns to fill two positions in the Production/Acquisitions department of Overture Films. The intern will work within production department researching projects, reading scripts, writing coverage, and assisting with departmental administrative needs, which include basic industry assistant duties (phone calls and scheduling).

Post Production Department

Working in a Threatrical Film Post Production department in Beverly Hills, CA. Hours/Days worked are flexible based on the intern’s school schedule. The Post Production intern will provide general assistance to the Post Production department within Overture films; providing administrative support to both the in office department as well as assist with the needs of the editorial crews on various films. Some specific duties include creating and revising databases for the department and completing special projects and research as assigned.

Distribution Department

The student will be exposed to the basics of motion picture distribution and will have the opportunity to learn about the components of film distribution. The intern will have the ability to work with the staff and department heads in the following areas: Film Sales, Sales Operations – Theatrical & box office research, print control & digital cinema, Accounts receivable, special projects, exhibitor relations (in theatre marketing). Specific duties may include: setup of distribution planning, work with In Theatre Marketing to track and reort on trailer placement. Occasional light office work such as phone coverage, executive support, development of company-wide intranet, validate and research theatrical information, box office research and planning and financial analysis.

Legal Department

The student will experience the functionality of a legal department in a theatrical film company. Various duties include filing, phones, appointments, and copier/fax machines. Looking for a prelaw or poli-sci major with an interest in Entertainment Law.

Marketing Department

Marketing Department at Overture Films is seeking an intern to assist in day to day task including some administrative work, tracking projects, research, as well as projects specific to the marketing and promotion of a particular film. Creating and revising databases for the department including: track publicity, Top 10 list, research, etc. Execute key elements of marketing plans for individual movies. Proficient in MS Windows. Design skills and proficiency with Adobe CSa plus.

Publicity Department

We are looking for interns with interests in the entertainment industry and public relations. A positive attitude, ability to take initiative, responsibility, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn are required. The Intern will provide administrative support as well assist with the needs of the publicity efforts on various films. Provide general administrative assistance to the Publicity department. Maintain the media library. Research and update contact databases. Coordinate press and industry mailings. Assist with the planning and execution of special projects and events. Gain experience in working within a in a fast-paced and professional studio . Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Must be currently enrolled in a college or university and able to take the internship for college credit. Desired majors include Film Studies, Business, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Fine Arts, or related area of study. Strong organizational skill and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects. Solid written, verbal and communication skills a must. Computer skills, particularly competence in Microsoft Office and Internet research required.
