General Job Description:
|
The Accounting Manager position will work closely with the Director of Accounting – Home Video and is responsible for the day-to-day and month end accounting needs of Home Video division, with particular emphasis managing the data received from it’s distribution partner, Sony. This position is primarily responsible for managing the data received monthly for our distribution activities, validating it’s accuracy for analytical means and recording and reconciling the transactions in the General Ledger. Analyze all incoming transaction files from Sony and prepare the data for input into the General Ledger. Perform analytical procedures on this distribution data to determine that reported revenue, costs and expenses are correct. Reconcile data with other secondary sources to determine validity.
Reconcile book inventory with actual inventory and prepare reserve schedules as required. Monthly review and primary responsibility for the selected Balance Sheet reconciliations, primarily receivables and inventory. Preparation of monthly actuals, as well as sections of the financial reporting packages for management and corporate review. Analyses of actual results compared to budget as well as forecast. Preparation of variance explanations highlighting issues for senior management. Preparation of analyses and special reports to enable management to monitor performance and offer suggestions for improvement. Assistance with any audit-related requests. Additional analytical requests from Director or VP of Finance, as necessary. Additional duties and projects as assigned.

Required Skills:
|
Bachelor’s degree preferred in Finance, Accounting, Business or similar discipline; minimum five years experience in all aspects of accounting and one or more years of lead or supervisory experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. CPA preferred. Requires broad conceptual judgment, initiative and ability to deal with complex accounting issues. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
Knowledgeable in all Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Project software applications. Strong Finance, Accounting and data analysis skills.
Knowledge of MAS500 system, TM1 data-mining tool and Financial Analyzer a plus
